It's good to be home again and this trip was on the cards for a long time. I always try to plan some travels around Steemfest because it's a great opportunity to visit Europe. Luckily I saved up some money before the markets tanked and managed to do it the way I wanted to

I had my friends travel with me for about 29 days including the dates for Steemfest and I traveled 23 days on my own on this journey.

Here we go

  1. Total travel days: 52
  2. Total Countries on this trip: 13 (11 new)
  3. 12 Flights, 13 Busses, 6 Trains and 40 Ubers + 1 local taxi.
  4. Transportation cost (Inter-city and Intra-city Buses/Trains + Ubers/Taxi and Flights) was the number one expense followed by Accommodation expenses.
  5. Total Bottled water consumed = Only 1. Tap water was drinkable throughout. I carried a Sawyer Mini-water filtration system but never needed to use it.
  6. Countries visited: Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, Vatican City, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Poland, Czech Republic and Denmark.

Key highlights of the trip:

  1. Executing Steemfest 3 event with an amazing team comprising of different nationalities. This was Steem blockchain's 3rd annual global conference with 315 people from 47 countries. It was the 3rd such event for me.
  2. Skydiving at Czech Republic from 15,000 ft with my friends.
  3. Total countries travelled is now up to 22 after this trip.
  4. Traveled twice in a A380 with Emirates and it was something I looked forward to for years.
  5. Worked harder than ever, saved up and travelled. No free lunches.
  6. Purchasing Japanese chocolates with STEEM cryptocurrency at SF3. Instant and fee-less transfer thanks to STEEM.
  7. Visiting + Dining 120+ mts below earth's surface in a 13th century Salt Mine in Krakow, Poland.
  8. Meeting some amazing people from all over the world and forging new friendships!
  9. Traveling with my friends aishwarya@aishwarya varunpinto@varunpinto and wandereronwheels@wandereronwheels was an incredible experience. Lucky to have been able to do that and share my love for travel with some like-minded people.

Revisited some old favourites and many new destinations. Some of them gave me a teaser of what these countries & cities hold so I can revisit them in the future if I feel like it.

I'm not sure if and when something like this would be possible again. It was the 2nd time I traveled for such a long duration. The first was around India on a motorcycle for nearly 3 months in 2014. This trip was the longest outside of India so far. Earlier trips were limited to a month.

Hanging out and cycling around Amsterdam with the one and only roelandp@roelandp was epic! Thanks for everything bro!

I'm also very pleased with myself for being able to do this after a really tough 2017-2018 after the accident, multiple surgeries and a very long road to recovery. It took a lot hrout of me to be able to do this exactly the way I wanted to but I'm glad I did it and it went smoothly.

Thanks to my family (esp geetharao@geetharao), friends and well-wishers on and off Steemit for all the support throughout these times.

I love traveling and this year has been kind. I have so many pictures and memories and I don't know where to begin. I hope I can find the time to share some moments from these recent travels.

It would've been great to come back to a good market condition. But these things we cannot control. Looking back I wouldn't trade the experiences and memories from this trip for anything in the world. It was truly one incredible!

2019 is fast approaching and it's time to start building again. But, before that I just wanted to take a moment to reflect on these amazing 2 months and save it on the blockchain.

Cheers everyone!
