I'd like to share this wildlife drawing depicting a lioness carrying her cub with her mouth. This act is quite popular among members of both wild as well as domestic cats and dog family.
This form of lift by the mother is quite gentle and harmless. It is done mostly in the first few days of the Cub's birth and when the lioness wants to get the cub out of danger's way faster.
I used a black ball point pen and pelican paper to create this drawing. Here are the steps involved;
First, I drew the outline of the lioness and her cub in her mouth
Afterwards, I shaded all the dark areas on their skin. I also added details of fur to the cub's body
Finally, I added details of fur to the skin of the lioness.
