I'd like to share this wildlife drawing I made depicting a hippopotamus roaring in a river. I personally love this drawing because it shows how wide the jaw of an hippopotamus could open and how fleshy its skin looks.
I used a black ball point pen and pelican paper for this drawing
Here are the steps involved;
Firstly, I drew the outline of the hippopotamus in the river and added all it's features.
Next, I shaded and added tones as well as details to it's body and mouth.
Finally, I added some details to it's environment, the river to make the drawing look more realistic.
