Tabona, A Legendary Restaurant In My City, But Would I Like The Taste?

Hello my dear friends…
I have a friend travelled to my city for the first time. Me being me, i dont know what should i do to show around because i dont think we have many things to do here in my city. Its just confusing. So i asked my friend to asked their friend if they can give some recommendations. Maybe a food recommendation or something. The friend of my friend gave some restaurant recommendations, so we look into it and try to find it. The first place that they recommended are a Rumah Makan Siantar, which a restaurant that sells authentic mandailing food. Its a pity we cant actually find the restaurant because its something that i want to let my friend taste.

Their friend second recommendation after Rumah Makan Siantar is Tabona Restaurant. Their friend said that they have a good curry in here and its a must try. I have never heard about Tabona before but it seems like its a famous place when i look it up on internet. My friend was curious about this place. For me, i was feeling so so. The reason is because usually we cant rely on the famous place in internet. Usually, it would be taste so so. The second one, they sell curry which not really my thing.

This is what the place looks like. As we can see its very simple looking. Not only that, they dont gave us the menu so we need to ask what they have in there. It seems like they only have two menu which is chicken noodle and curry. The curry itself have two different variant which is chicken and beef curry. Its just right in the lunch time but the waiter told us that their beef curry is already sold out. Its very interesting to me that they only sell chicken noodle and curry in this restaurant. It must be because they’re so confident with their food that they don’t feel the need to put more variety .

I took the picture of the price list. I dont know about the price before but its quite expensive.

This is their infamous curry. Since they dont have beef curry, my friend ordered chicken curry with glass noodles. I really like their noodle and it seems like they make the noodle itsekf but to be honest the curry taste so so for me. Its good and not something taste bad but it doesnt seems like anything special. It seriously leave me wondering why is this place so famous. But maybe, its the older generation of the owner that makes this place famous and make a really great curry. I dont know. This is definitely not the taste that makes me craving to go there again.

This is my order, a chicken noodle. Of course I expected the chicken noodle is different than the chicken noodle i usually eat in the side road for 1/3 the price. Chicken noodle, the pricier it gets, the less taste they have. I dont even know why it was like that. For me, the taste is really bland. I feel like eating noodle and water. I fo understand that some people like this type of chicken noodle and maybe this is what the chicken noodle supposedly taste like but this is not the taste i had in my mind when i think of buying chicken noodle.
