Nothing tells you that the seasons are changing quite like a cat. This is not affection. Nope. It's about stealing body heat. Not his. Mine. He gets very grumpy come time for me to get on with the day. Despite the purring and the cheek patting.

This week was also full moon. The Husband always marked - and loved - a full moon. This month marks the 24th full moon since he left the village. And it was spectacular.

He, and what unfolded in April 2023, are more on my mind as usual: dear friends of ours who paid us a surprise visit just four days before he went into hospital, will be here this weekend. To spend time with me, and to toast him, us, friendship, life and enduring friendships.

It's going to be bittersweet
