I was a die-hard fan of Pokémon when I was a child and I still sometimes play some of the different Pokémon games.

Last day I saw an article in the news about developers implementing the Pokémon game into the blockchain. If you're really into this, you might've heard of Twitch Plays Pokémon. It was a big thing in the past. It allowed people who watched the live stream of the game to control the actions of the character in the game. People could give commands into the chatbox and it would control the game. It's a messy way to play, with hundreds of players online, giving different commands, which were totally uncoordinated.

Developer João Almeida have come up with a platform where the classic pokémon game on the Lightning Network platform, which works very similar to the game on Twitch. He has even created a lightning network enabled virtual gamepad. OpenNode is used for making the payments, where you need to pay 10 satoshi for every instruction you give.

Poketoshi is an exciting platform and it demonstrates how blockchain can be used in the entertainment field. We can expect to see more interesting applications of blockchain and cryptocurrency in the future!
