Akon to launch his own Cryptocurrency, Akoin and plans to build real life Wakanda!
World famous rapper Akon has planned to release his own cryptocurrency called Akoin. His vision in planning to bring the new technology to Africa is to build a real life "Wakanda", the technologically advanced city depicted in the story of Black Panther. Akon envisions to bring the crypto-wold to Africa and thus empowering entrepreneurship among the youth.
Akon who previously founded Akon Lighting Africa, which gave solar power to 18 countries in Africa, says that the Akoin Ecosystem can help the world's largest emerging economy to unlock its potential. As a part of the Akoin Ecosystem he plans to release a digital wallet, for making transactions, a platform for releasing decentralized apps, the Akoin token, and a platform for easy transaction and processing of cryptocurrency in local areas of interest such as shops, hospitals and market places.
Akon also plans to build a real life "wakanda" like city. "Crypto-CIty", as he calls it will be built on 2000 acres of land and will be a smart city which introduces a radical new way of living, with cryptocurrency and the blockchain at the heart of all transactions and businesses.
When he was asked about how the blockchain worked, he replied :-
"I come with the concepts and let the geeks figure it out"
This can mean that there will be lots of new opportunities for young African men and women who are interested in technology and the blockchain. With resources like the internet, this can create a lot of new opportunities.
I feel that this is a bold and revolutionary decision and will bring Africa in the fore-front of the blockchain field.
