Just One Word

for me the word that comes to my mind right now is fanaticism. Yesterday I saw a video there a seemingly grown up man was ranting about how one anime has too much fanservice and other has main character who uses some kind of devilish powers. The reason is that he claims to be deeply religious. And so he is worried that god will not understand/ forgive him for enjoying such things... in a fictional story. But he keeps on watching it and earning money from those reactions anyway...Weird. I think that having a moderate belief in some religion is not a problem. I still could not understand many of those beliefs but at least they seem quite harmless in comparison with a true fanaticism. Also isn't the whole point of cristianity believing that god is good, merciful and understanding? If so I would think that this person is insulting god by saying that he will not forgive someone enjoying a fictional work? So I guess that while he claims to be very religious in the end he doesn't even know much(or anything) about the thing he claims to believe...A bit sad. And scary.
