As much as I try to be optimistic about things I think that you are correct about attention span. I have not read a book in a long time and I think that I am not THAT old yet. So people who are younger than me and/or even more used to staring at screens likely has even worse attention span. This makes me think that future generations will likely lose all intrest in long form content. Great.Now I do sound like a old man who thinks that future generations will be worse...
