Last time I wrote about basketball was few weeks ago. Back then situation for my favorite taam was not looking good at all:
They had only two wins and were in the 14place in Euroleague. And the worst part is that is that it did not show any signs of hope. Carsen Edwards seemed like a completly headless shooter who only cared about his own stats. Saben Lee was not shooting any threepointers. Our main pointguard Nigel Williams-Goss was injured most of the time. In center position Marek Blaževič was playing horribly and it seemed that Jonas Valančiūnas is our only true center. But now after just three more games I am more positive and can have a breath of fresh air again. So what caused that change?
While Nigel Williams-Goss is still injured and will not play for a while my favorite team managed to win the last three games in a row. Keenan Evans has returned to my favorite team. He is perhaps no longer the player he was in the past(he had a few nearly career ending injuries and was not playing for a long time) but he brings a lot of experience and calmness to the court. This means that even Carsen Edwards now looks less headless. Blaževič still seems like a player who should be playing several levels below Euroleague. But in last few games he was not registered and Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu was given a chance to play as well. For him those few games were the first times playing in Euroleague so he still makes some mistakes but he seems more passionate and promising than Blaževič who somehow regressed and now seems to be completly not playable at this level.
Another thing that gives me hope for the future is the schedule. In the nearest games my favorite team will be playing Besiktas, Emporio Armani and Bayern. I believe that they can win at least two out of those three games and climb higher in the board. We really need those victories because after that my favorite team will face powerhouses of Euroleague- Panathinaikos and Real. As a crazy optimist I believe that they can win even agaisnt such teams. But on paper they are overstacked with talented players.
