My names are too many
Can i keep count now?
They have called me this and that
What about the "grass" for a start?
No, Grass is noble
I must be the "grassroots"
Truly under the earth
Trampled upon and rejected
Never seen but trodden upon.
I am the "Dawn-trodden"
As a grassroot i was already under.
But "down-trodden" makes my masters truthful
They know i have to be kicked and trampled upon
Ignored but made to serve them.
I am among the "poor masses"
A faceless group of humans
The teeming millions of "under dogs".
The suffering humanity
I am the "less privilaged "
They cannot allow me my privilege
They steal it from me without shame.
"A common man" I am
Yes, I already knew this
God made me a little lover than the Angels
And God has the right
But for a fellow mortal to call me "common"
It's the height of man's inhumanity to man!
Watch out! My masters are here again.
