In a hospital corridor
The eyes strays around
Up and down, East to West
Waiting and watching
Patiently and impatiently waiting
The sickness all forgotten
A muffled sound from inside
A nurse's muted calls of names
A bang of the door and
Reality descends!
My partners to the right,
A couple old and grey
The woman opens a bag
Movement: And up comes
The morning meal
A handful of corn and kernel
She shares with the hussy
Munching quietly and unobtrusively
This is loving and sharing.
