As far as mainstream PC specific magazines go, PC World was probably the best. I preferred Maximum PC but that one was a little more specialized. Though it would eventually become watered down with other tech products, that kind of stuff was only really just starting to creep in in 2007. The December 2007 issue of PC World includes:
