聽聽聽聽聽聽Es incre铆ble lo que ha estado haciendo Boston.

What Boston has been doing is unreal. Heading into the July 7th slate, the ballclub was sitting at 39-48, buried 11 games back of the third Wild Card spot. That exact same day, they lost Venezuelan starter Ranger Su谩rez to a groin strain. They had already started putting tallies in the win column, but that day sparked the historic streak that tied the franchise record for consecutive wins. And lo and behold, they wrapped up the week yesterday at 54-50, meaning they鈥檝e gone a blistering 15-2 over this 20-day stretch, catapulting the club out of the divisional cellar straight into 3rd place. Not only that, they completely erased that Wild Card deficit and currently hold the second Wild Card seed with a 1.5-game cushion over their closest pursuer. A total storybook script.

Sunday baseball at Boston's Fenway Park, where the slumping Blue Jays went to try and cool down the hometown Red Sox. Guess who came off the IL to start the ballgame? Yep, Valencia's own Ranger Su谩rez, who took the bump on a strict pitch count. And the man absolutely delivered. While he didn't get the win because they capped him at 65 pitches, he worked 4 full frames, scattering 4 hits, walking none, and fanning 6 while keeping the dangerous Canadian lineup off the board. After that outing, he lowered his ERA to 3.02 and let the bullpen finish the job in a 6-1 victory. Maracaibo's Wilyer Abreu helped out with a pair of doubles, driving in one. The Boston saga continues and trust me, with Su谩rez back in the rotation, they look scarier than ever.

Someone looking to make some noise in the big leagues is rookie Luis Lara in the Milwaukee Brewers' already lethal lineup. Yesterday the man was a major spark plug once again in an 11-2 blowout win, anchored on the bump by rookie ace Jacob Misiorowski. The latter fanned a dozen Rockies to pick up the W. Luis ripped two extra-base hits, driving in a run apiece, and has shown insane poise at the dish, looking like an absolute seasoned veteran. Watching this kid work a count is pure joy. They had every right in the world to lock him up with that bag before he even took a single major league hack. You need elite scouting vision to spot that kind of raw talent. We鈥檒l see how the league's pitching staff adjusts to figure him out, since rookies usually have the element of surprise on their side regardless of advance scouting reports. Good on Luis.

The absolute dogfight for the National League batting title rages on between Venezuela's Luis Arr谩ez and the Dominican Republic's Otto L贸pez. Yesterday, the Braves kept L贸pez out of the lineup for a rest day while Luis suited up. Despite the San Francisco Giants dropping a tight 4-3 ballgame to the Los Angeles Angels, the San Felipe native raked at the dish, flashing a hit and an RBI double that drove in a pair. With that performance, Arr谩ez jacked up his AVG to .327, while Otto remained idle at .331. It鈥檚 going to be a blast watching these two go toe-to-toe because no matter the outcome, the Venezuelan's elite contact-hitter status stays locked in since he鈥檚 only fanned 19 times all season long. Except now he鈥檚 adding serious leather to the mix, ranking as the third-best second baseman in defensive runs saved across the league. A true superstar inside and out.
