has me very interested in trying to grow these

I am so glad that the post could instill in you this feeling! They are so easy to grow and they look so nice, but they are really awesome in food.

How much sunlight/shade do they require?

I grow them in full sun, they only get shade from 5PM but get sun from 7AM already.

I live in Zones 5 & 6 and I have no problem with parsley, oregano, basil, & rosemary.

I am not sure about these zones (I live in South Africa) but if rosemary grows there this will do as well! I have a bunch of rosemary bushes very close to them.

As for other tips, I grow them in containers or pots. Maybe they will do good in the garden as well, I am not sure. But I have had the most success in containers. I give them water daily, but the containers drain well and our temps are something like 30C on average so it gets very hot. So if the temperatures are mild, do not water too much. I am not an allium (onions) expert, but I have had the most success with these. (One time the wind blew most of the seeds from the flowers and the cracks of the paving garlic chives grew; that is how easy they grow!)

Thank you for this informative post

Thank you for reading it! I really appreciate it. I hope my comment helps you as well. Much success for growing them!
