To my mind or frame of reference, -10C sounds seriously cold! But I know that can be much lower up north there in your world.
Oh, that just sounds dangerous. As I read what you wrote even before you mentioned it, I thought about how quickly the layer of melted ice would re-freeze and become even slippier and more dangerous! If this was South Africa, the government would have given the tender to someone who would also do it like that: only one block even though the funds would have gone for much more! What was the reasoning behind doing it for only such a small area and why do it even then? (Money, I guess?)
I wanted that yesterday out on the golf course! A heap of ice I could just fall into. When I jumped into the pool the water felt like bath water, it did not cool down!
