Actually today it was only -3°C but a bit windy so perhaps felt like -10°C. It's been a while since there were really cold temperatures here in the southern parts. Still a crazy temperature difference though.
The heated walkway is a stupid thing in other ways too. It's just one block. Just. One. Block. So why, I ask. Pointless. And as it can't do miracles, it can only melt the snow and ice if the temperature isn't that cold, there never is a dry, non slippery ice layer there, but often a slippery "I'm melting" layer that, when really cold, melts a little and freezes, melts a little and freezes.
40°C is too much. It's agony. Terrible. Wouldn't it be grand to do the same as many here do if they have their own sauna, come out of 70-80°C heat and roll in the snow or jump in to a icy lake? You have to fill a bathtub with ice so that you won't melt.
Snowy bikes are pure art!
