cold brewed love
avo on toast
did you remember
the last time
we saw each other
a promise
held between two napkins
a desire
shared in a stare
would you come with me
as I float away
on our love

for a moment
we held each other
in a coffee shop
on a rainy day
the sky cried
and we laughed
when we could not find
our way between the cars
headlights shined
as we ran away
from life's constant reminder
of absurd reflections
o my love
can we get drunk on water and bread
and love and desire

meet me behind closed doors
as we manifest our love
meet me behind closed doors
so that we can anew
declare a war between time and money
desire and vanity
for as we know
everything works against us

Postscriptum

Me and urban.scout@urban.scout escaped the busy life for the weekend. I am sneaking this poem in to surprise her. We are drinking wine, making pasta, and listening to the rain falling outside the window. It is our perfect little break away from life.

I hope that you will have the chance to break away from your busy life.

Happy reading and stay safe.

The photographs were taken by urban.scout@urban.scout, and the poetry is my own creation, albeit somewhat inspired by the weather and the wine.
