It has been a couple of weeks, if not months, since the last rain. It has been 3 or so months since the last good rain. When the rain stopped, I seized the opportunity to take some macro close-up photographs of the rain droplets on the plants. The clean air is pleasurable to breathe in, the sharp but not too bright light is perfect for photography.
It is always a journey to walk through the garden. To see new growth is a type of medicine to me. However, the opposite is also a problem. That is when the garden struggles I also struggle. I do not like it when the plants are stressed, as this causes stress to me as well. I try to water the plants, but this is not always possible.
There is something magical about rain. Droplets falling from the sky that nurtures the roots of plants, fluid dripping from the sky that soothes the dried skin of the earth.
When it rains, I need to manually change inlet pipes of my rainwater system. I always take the opportunity to walk in the rain as if the rain will cleanse my soul. The droplets cling to my skin and I love the cold feeling it produces.
Please enjoy these photographs and scroll to the bottom of the post if you'd like to read some of my usual philosophical musings when I walk through my garden.
Life is interconnected; yet, we often overlook this fact by our own inability to comprehend complex systems that rely on a fine balance.
Healing happens when we surrender our minds to chaos.
Chaos manifests itself when we look at life with youthful eyes.
A flower smiles when the rain greets its skin; a child smiles when something out of the ordinary happens; an old man smiles when something out of the ordinary does not happen.
Time feels like it is constantly moving; yet time is never now. The present is stuck in the past, and the future is yet to happen. Movement is an illusion; yet, it is the most important illusion.
Water heals, we drink it to satiate our thirst, the plants use it to grow food for us.
All of the photographs are of my own. Taken with my old Nikon D300 and Tamron Macro-Zoom lense, I trust that she will give me some extra years still. The musings are my own, albeit the garden is where they originated. All the credit to the little yellow spider in the photographs that whispered them to me. I hope you enjoyed the photographs and if you read the musings, them as well! Happy photographing and stay safe.
