I'll tell you that before I had the surgery, I repaired a starter motor on a Ford X4 that arrived slightly damaged because the carbon brushes were no good. I also installed bronze horns and replaced the rack where the small gears go, which gives the starter more power.
Previously, older starter motors did not use these gears and often overheated because they did not have enough power to turn the engine quickly.
Les cuento que antes de que me hicieran la cirug铆a hice una reparaci贸n de un motor de arranque de una Ford X4 el cual lleg贸 un poco da帽ado pues los carbones no serv铆an , tambi茅n se le colocaron las bocinas de bronce, tambi茅n se cambi贸 la cremallera donde van los peque帽os engranajes que es lo le da m谩s fuerza al arranque.
Anteriormente los motores de arranque modelos viejos no usaban esos engranajes y muchas veces se calentaban porque no ten铆an fuerza para girar r谩pido el motor.
Here in these photos you can see how damaged these parts were. For example, the rack had almost no teeth left to engage the gears, which meant that the starter motor couldn't turn the engine over. The carbon brushes were also worn, and when you tried to start it, the starter motor would overheat.
Aqu铆 en estas fotos se dar谩n cuenta lo da帽ado que estaban est谩s partes, por ejemplo la cremallera ya casi no ten铆a dientes para agarrar los engranajes y eso hacia que el motor de arranque no girara el motor , tambi茅n los carbones estaban desgastados y al darle a prender mucho se calentaba el motor de arranque.
Subsequently, all components were serviced and cleaned to ensure they were in good condition and ready for use.
Posteriormente se le hizo un mantenimiento a todos los componentes y una limpieza para que estuviera con buena presencia y en optimas condiciones para su uso.
It was a little difficult for me to find good quality spare parts, which is a problem here in the country because the spare parts that come in are of very poor quality, and for that truck they have to be good. One fundamental reason is that installing that starter motor is very complicated because of the position of the screws, especially the one at the top. It took me almost an entire morning to remove it, and my fingers were all bruised because it is so difficult to access.
Thank God I was able to do the maintenance and install it properly with a little time, but the important thing is that it works well and now the truck starts fine without any noise and doesn't overheat. The customer was happy, also because of the price of the labor, because in other places the same job would have been very expensive.
Se me hizo un poco dif铆cil conseguir los repuestos de buena calidad ya que aqu铆 en el pa铆s es un problema porque los repuestos que entran son de muy mala calidad y para ese camioneta tienen que ser buenos y una raz贸n fundamental es que para instalar ese motor de arranque es muy complicado por la posici贸n de los tornillos sobre todo el que va por la parte de arriba ; para poder sacarlo pese casi toda una ma帽ana en ese proceso y con los dedos todos maltratados y es por eso mismo porque es de dif铆cil acceso.
Gracias a Dios pude hacer el mantenimiento y lo pude instalar bien con un poco de tiempo , pero lo importante es que quedo bien y ahora la camioneta prende bien sin ning煤n tipo de ruido y tampoco se calienta, el cliente qued贸 contento , tambi茅n por el precio de la mano de obra porque en otros sitios le sal铆a s煤per costoso ese mismo trabajo.
