It's cold here in Central France at the moment. We have an oil central heating but also a fire that has a back boiler that is linked to the system. So when it is not really cold we can heat the whole house with the fire. When it's really cold we fire up the oil burner and have electric radiators on too! In winter we spend 220euros a month just on wood and then there is oil and electricity too. It probably is about 400euros a month but it is a big house (we run a bed and breakfast). In the winter we hope to get a few guests in just to pay to heat the house!
