Terribles monstruos grises
Con corazones de piedra,
En pos de más riquezas.
¿Qué ocasionan?
En "Guernica", Picasso
Lo revela en silencio.
Solo horrores voraces,
Destrucción infinita.
¿Quiénes sufren?
Indefensos civiles,
Inocentes, ancianos,
Madre Naturaleza
Que, en el estertor de su agonía,
Clama por una paz que no germina.

Acrid dark clouds
Over lush valleys.
Who wages it?
Terrible gray monsters
With hearts of stone,
In pursuit of more riches.
What do they cause?
In "Guernica," Picasso
Reveals it in silence.
Only voracious horrors,
Infinite destruction.
Who suffers?
Defenseless civilians,
The innocent, the elderly,
Mother Nature— Who, in the throes of her agony,
Cries out for a peace that will not take root.
