La quietud presente en la ciudad no anticipaba la ocurrencia del evento que pronto se iba a presentar. Esa noche las campanas de la iglesia comenzaron a tocar sin nadie sentido, de pronto los presentes en la plaza central se dieron cuenta de que las farolas habían comenzado a mecerse. Algunos de ellos se levantaron de las bancas donde estaban sentados, perdiendo el equilibrio.
Uno de los vecinos dándose cuenta de lo que ocurría, grito la novedad.
Terremoto, terremoto, Dios nos agarré confesados.
Luego de un minuto, tiempo que pareció una eternidad, la plaza se comenzó a llenar de personas asustadas. No entendían bien lo que había sucedido.
Uno de los edificios cercanos mostraba una de sus paredes agrietadas, en la que una mujer mayor desde su balcón gritaba que le fueran a rescatar.
Así esa noche, los vecinos esperaron en la plaza hasta que despuntara el día, momento que pudieron darse cuenta de la magnitud del evento ocurrido.

The stillness present in the city did not anticipate the occurrence of the event that was soon being presented. Some of them got up from the benches where they were sitting, losing balance.
One of the neighbors realizing what was happening, shouted at the novelty.
