Watching great players

If you want to make the most out of your Splinterlands collection, you have to play it yourself and win! That's what's going to make the most bang for your buck. But if you want to win, you have to study the game, otherwise you'll do nothing but waste your time, all while not earning as much as you could.

That's what we're doing in Bronze TOP BATTLES Studies: we analyze three battles from the highest MMR players, learn their strategies and try improving upon them. That's how we're going to become great players that make more money. We begin after our giveaways!

An opportunity battle is tricky because there are many ways to hide your damage dealers. You see @splinterstonks using stallers, so they're targeted before... Wait, who's @splinterstonks' damage dealer? They were too worried about mitigating damage, that's actually all they've done while building a team. The most fearsome monster from @splinterstonks' team is Mycelic Subspawn, but it's also the one targeted first because of its taunt skill.

When we look at @trueskillz02's team, we can see armor from Queen Mycelia, health from Epona and the passive-agressive Thorns ability from Mylor Crowling. But we also see a strong offensive as Unicorn Mustang. That's right, everyone is stalling while Unicorn Mustang stomps everything in its path.

Mirror summoners, little league and almost all the mana players could wish for. Yet, what monster decides the outcome of this match? Creeping Ooze. @michaeljohn19's Serpentine Spy attacked first because their opponent's Serpentine Spy was slowed. That was enough to ensure victory from one side.

Creeping Ooze is a very important monster when you're trying to rush attack into your opponent's face, which is what Fire Splinter is good at, so always rent Creeping Ooze if you're trying to win ranked matches and your daily focus points at Fire Splinter.

I'd say @konstagw put together a really good team, considering there were no epics or rares. Just commons and uncommons currently being printed, except for the Furious Chicken. They might have won if @trueskillz02 hadn't chosen Goblin Sorcerer as part of their team.

That's because Regal Perython, officially the one who should have survived, kept being blasted by Goblin Sorcerer for the entire match. If a Queen Mycelia was also being used next to Regal Perython, perhaps as position 5 while Furious Chicken stood at 6, @trueskillz02 would have lost. Of course, that means Pelacor Mercenary would have to be replaced. Hill Giant would have done the trick.

This outlines how Regal Perython really is a staple in Earthquake matches.
