By all appearances, Eva is a normal person. One would expect she lives a normal life.
But that which goes unseen has greatly challenged her.
"I'm the girl that had great potential," she said.
Mental struggles such as depression and severe insecurity have steered Eva's life toward abusive relationships, homelessness, and prison.
"It finally sunk in, 'Whoa, I'm living under a bridge,'" she recalled, as she shared her story.
The result of this life has been strained relationships with family who once were close, children she once had raised, and a self she now struggles to face.
Hers is a difficult life and difficult story to hear. But by making us aware, she was able to connect with those who care to listen and remind us of the need to continue addressing such mental ailments all too common in the U.S.
