Well bitcoin seems to do very well with a markt price of $4700. But a lot of other crypto currencies seem to be in trouble. Besides BTC and Ripple, almost all altcoin are touching the redd numbers. Steem for example is in a downtrend for days. And isn't doing so well.

Their is another hard fork coming up for BTC, so maybe people are just converting their altcoin to Bitcoin. In order to grab some free coins. If this is the case then the prices of altcoin should go up again after the hard fork of Bitcoin has happened.
I personally think this is a great time for me to grab some extra Steem. The price is half of when I joined so now should be a good time to buy. I still believe in this platform, even-though it has it's flaws. In the long term this wouldn't be a bad investment.
