have you ever planned on doing something but yet keep on posting it?
Actually, I've been doing it often but that ends with the event I'm about to share with you.
MONDAY was going on fine until this happened!
"Read your RULES OF PROFESSIONAL CONDUCTS cover to cover" has always been the motto of my lecturers.
I actually posted reading it till externship and rather focused on other things.
It hit so hard just when I missed a scholarship to undergo a professional course on ARBITRATION under ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION. the question for the interview was : "Recite Rule 15 (3) of the RPC? (rules of professional conducts) I didn't get it accurately because, I've merely been flipping through pages hoping to have time for it when I'm done with other laws.
Here's what the rule says "IN HIS REPRESENTATION OF HIS CLIENT, A LAWYER SHALL NOT FAIL OR NEGLECT TO INFORM HIS CLIENT OF THE OPTION OF ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION MECHANISM BEFORE RESORTING TO OR CONTINUING LITIGATION ON BEHALF OF HIS CLIENT"
I've been asking myself, after the opportunity I've missed, how can I ever forget this section in this life! Honestly, what will make me forget it, is not yet in existence.
Opportunity has been missed because I failed to recite it accurately and this has triggered that reluctant part of me who has been shoving the interest aside.
I now walk around with my RPC, it's kept beside me while sleeping, it's now opened like my life depends on it.
I looked at the volume of the small book and got pissed. While I've been busy studying the bigger books and shoving the smaller ones aside, it hit me unaware.
I've realized that no knowledge is a waste irrespective of the size of the book. Most time what we see as irrelevant tends to be the one we need most
In life, there's something that triggers OR propel us to act and push beyond limit.
So I ask?
WHAT IS YOUR TRIGGER? SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE.
