I've had two weeks of consistency since I resumed fully on the Hive chain and it's obvious to me that I really don't give Hive enough credit on how it is such an ideal social media space - genuinely interesting, educative and very respectful.
My re-entry into the Hive community has seen a noticeable reduction in social media time on other mainstream platforms and am completely loving it. These days I can't help but compare and contrast my time on the Hive platform with that of mainstream social media, especially Twitter or X.
I spend a lot of time on twitter than probably any other platform, up till now, and the reason is quite simple. Once I enter the space, I am caught up with doom scrolling that leaves me reeling from the time wasted after I eventually get off. Moreso, while I am better than most at keeping my emotions in check, I am bound to stumble across an opinion or information that gets me riled up.
The Hive space provides an alternative to all that craziness. Here even the most random life updates, like my friends that Post on Actfit, or random images tend to inspire or bring about positive interactions. While people need to spend way less time consuming useless content on social media, I do think Hive brings value in its own unique way in that regards.
