After I graduated from my higher institution I decided to visit my school again for my certificate. After I got to my hotel room I was on my WhatsApp checking people status to pass away the time. I was swiping to get something better to watch and boom I saw a video of "Mercy" smiling and dancing.
||Mercy is a girl I had a crush on since we were studying together but she didn't give me a chance because he has a boyfriend. So I gave up and move on.||
Without wasting anytime I swipe up and send her a message.
Me: How have you been? How are you? Hope you're good
And to my surprise, the response came swiftly. A girl that doesn't reply to most of my chat.
Mercy: I'm good. Longest time, I hope you have been well.
And our conversation started. We spoke for a long time and I smelt she was single so I decided to shoot my shot. I was like
So you finally have my time. All those times I liked you, you never gave me a chance to prove my love to you. But I still like you tho.
Her response was another surprise to me.
You liked me? I never knew and besides you never said anything to me
Me: what do you mean. All those times I waited for you when you were not done with your class. Or the time I get you food something I don't normally do. Or the time I gave you my jacket when you were cold.
Her: Me!!!? You never did a such thing for me. And don't make up stories. Though I also liked you then.
At that point, I should have been suspicious of the person I was talking to but I thought she was only playing hard to get, but immediately I read the line "I also liked you" I was swept off my feet. Immediately I asked her out on a date since she was in the same city as me.
The day of the date.
She called and said she was already at the meet-up place. I thought to myself "That was fast" so I hurry and went to meet her. I called and she told me her exact location. On getting there I met another lady I also know who is not Mercy but Mary.
How did it happen?
I couldn't smile properly so I just hugged her and sat down. I went straight to my Whatsapp and I saw I have been chatting with Mary all this time and not "Mercy" Mary was the one who uploaded Mercy video.
