You know how kids believe the words of their parents so blindly. Because of this, it gives the parent the chance to bring the kids up rightly and give them the proper training. This is my story with my parents and some things I later discovered after I was older.

When I was little, we did have lots of visitors. Uncles, aunts, and family friends do come visiting. It was always fun because before they left, we do get some curation from them for being cute, I and my siblings. After we get the money, my mom would come around and say things like, "Oya, bring the money; let me keep it for you so when you grow, you can ask for it." Funny enough, I do keep a record of all the money I have given her, but when the day of reckoning comes and I ask for my money, I will hear, "All those foods you have been eating, which money do you think I used to get them?"
Little me will sit down and reason, like Mr. Bean, saying it is true because I have been eating a lot. When visitors come again and curation is given, the same thing will happen, and I wouldn鈥檛 even think of being scammed because she's my mom. Now I feel like I have been scammed, and I don鈥檛 look as cute as before, so my uncles and aunties don鈥檛 give me money again. I want to go back to being a baby 馃槶馃槶馃槶.
I remembered one day my dad asked me to sing a nursery poem, and I didn鈥檛 get it right, so he promised me if I could get one right, he would get me a bicycle. Back then, having a bicycle as a kid among your peers was like owning a car, and everyone would bow to you because they wanted to ride on the bicycle and were at your mercy. So I complied and learned so many poems. I kept bugging my dad to listen to me so I could get that bicycle; finally, he gave me some ears, and I sang three poems well. As we were about to step out to go get my bicycle, it began to rain.
I felt so bad because this rain is about to stop me from acquiring a long-term dream. I started singing "Rain, rain, go away, come again another day." I sang this song so hard while tears were coming out of my eyes because my teacher told us that if it was about to rain and we sang that song, the rain would stop.
My dad was looking at me while I was singing, thinking his song was so passionate about education, not knowing I was casting a spell to stop the rain so I could get my bicycle.
Anyways, we are all grown now, and I am always praying for rain to fall on Monday morning so I can call my boss and give an excuse for not coming due to the heavy rain.
Thanks for taking your time to rain.
