I grew up in the northern part of Nigeria. There is this discrepancy between the people in different geopolitical zones of the nation of Nigeria. At times it affects their relationship and sometimes business especially for those who aren't exposed or ever mingled with any of the region. One of the controversial issues comes when an individual from east wants to marry someone from the north or a guy from the north getting married to a lady in the south all these create sorts of prejudice which at times makes people loose their purpose in life. I kept wondering why would such thing be happening like that. It supposed not to be so.

Since I turned to a teenager, I started becoming responsible for most of my actions and at times decision taken. Most of my life was independently lived which exposed me to the true reality of life. With the kind of family background I hailed from, we were trained with a large heart to accommodate everyone more so my daddy was a pastor. Most of the pastoral work was outside the confined of village hence the church members weren't our tribal people. When I stumbled on the theme for this edition, I had to question lots of things before responding with a write up like this. I almost found it difficult to itemised some of those instances where I insisted on my will to prevail against other things. At some point in life one has to be deliberate and do things according to his or her will. The effect of every decision one must be ready to bear it.

Oh yes I have ever done things in my own way just to achieve a goal and it later turned out to be good. When I was preparing for my wedding, I went through a lot of processes just to question and ascertain my level of readiness for marriage more so my wife wasn't from my state of origin. This raised a lot of dust from both nuclear and extended family because of the bias mindset they all had. I was determined to marry my wife against all odds because my mind was made up therefore no one could stop me. I have found the love of my life and the vessel in whom I could spend the rest of my life with.

To cut the long story short, I insisted on what I wanted for my life and it played out. How did I achieve this? I followed my elder brothers and reasoned with with them. I clarify them and ensure that we were on the same page. I was able convinced all the relevant stakeholders from my family and inlaws as well. I had to clothe myself with the garment of humility to get what I wanted. Today I am married to a beautiful damsel not from state and blessed with kids. Everyone is happy with me and I have been affecting their lives positively in my little way. Sometimes one must be deliberate in pursuing what is good because beautify is in the eyes of the beholder.

thanks for reading through my entry for week 103 engagement in hive learners edition 2.
