"I searched you in the whole house and you are here, what are you doing here Mom? "
"I am just doing some cleaning for your birthday party."
"Wow!!! I am so excited Mom. I have already invited my all friends."
"Alright, Babe! You can surely invite anyone you want. It's your day!"
Thank you, Mom! But for now, I am hungry and I need something to eat."
" Mia! Go and change your uniform, I am just coming in five minutes.
"Alright,t Mom! But what is this?"
Mia asked her Mom (Emma) in curiosity while she was holding a blue colored globe in her hand.
"It's a globe, which your Dad gifted me when he came back from his first trip from New York."
"Globe? As a gift? He would have brought you some jewelry instead. "
"Yes! It seems crazy, but he knows well, how much I love such things. I kept adding this kind of thing into my collection."
"It seems beautiful, can I hold it in my hands?"
"Not Mia! It's made of glass and very sensitive. You can drop it, so I can't take that risk...Lol."
"Okay, Mom!"
Mia went into her room. She was only ten and a short short-sighted girl with curly hair. After a while, her mother brought her lunch and after having it, Mia went into the TV lounge to watch her favorite cartoons. Her mother was also busy doing some other chores. The thought of touching the globe was continuously running in Mia's mind. As soon as she noticed her mother's absence, she stood up.
She went towards the globe and looked at it inquisitively. She wanted to hold the globe in her hand. But as soon as she was about to pick it up, she heard her Mom, so she immediately came back to watch the cartoon. After a while her mother said,
"Mia! I am going to the nearby store to buy some necessary items for the kitchen. Lock the door and never let anybody come in until you would have recognized them. "
"Ok, Mom!"
This was a golden chance for Mia to fulfill her wish to touch the globe. So she immediately went towards the globe. She picked it up and looked at it curiously.
"Wow! That's beautiful." She said it to herself. But just then a mishap happened, she dropped the globe mistakenly. As soon as the globe fell on the ground, it broke into pieces. Mia trembled in fear, as she couldn't believe what happened to her. This was not what she was expecting. Her wish of touching a globe turned into a dreadful fear.
She gathered all the broken pieces of the globe and placed them in the side drawer of her cupboard. She was in great fear of her mother's reaction after she got to know about it. She went into her room and lay on her bed under her blanket. She even covered her face. When her mother came back, she looked for her, but Mia didn't respond to her.
She came into her room and asked Mia to get up.
"Mia! Are you sleeping? Did you forget that it's your birthday party?"
Still Mia didn't respond her. Emma got worried and came near to her. She dragged the blanket and placed her hand on Mia's face. She was sweating and having a high temperature. Her mother got worried and asked her in awe.
"OMG! What happened Mia? You were perfectly alright a few hours ago and now you are having a high temperature. She gave her medicines but still she didn't get better.
" I think, we should bring her to the doctor." She said this to her husband.
They brought her to the doctor and after the treatment, Mia felt a little better, but still, she was unable to walk due to weakness.
"I don’t know what happened to Mia suddenly...It's my baby's special day and she is in the hospital. Emma said this to her husband.
"I think, we should apologize to our guests and should postpone her birthday celebrations."
"You are right!"
They postponed her birthday party. Just then, tears dropped from Mia's eyes.
"Mama! I want to tell you something. I dropped your globe and it broke into pieces."
"OMG! Mia, so this is the reason your health suddenly deteriorated. How could you do this to yourself? You ruined your special day just with a minor mistake. You would have let me know this before. You don't need to worry, it was just a globe. You are important to me more than anything. "
Hearing her mother's words, Mia was relieved and she felt better. But she ruined her big day, with the fear of being scolded.
