"I'm not feeling well today."
"I think you should take an off from the office and have some rest."
"There is an important meeting in the office, which I have to attend. But I'll be back soon! You just prepare my favorite Spiced carrot & lentil soup, as I would feel better after having it."
"Alright!"
Adam said this to her wife Noura, as it was his favorite appetite whenever he felt unwell. They were married for 5 years and had a kid named Burhan. Noura was a careless lady, as soon as her husband left for the office, she rang her friend.
"I am coming to take you on a shopping, so just be ready." She said to her friend.
" I have had a headache since last night, so I don't think I would be able to join you for shopping."
"Are you serious? I am coming to pick you up after traveling for one hour and you are putting just lame excuses in front of me. I'm not going to hear anything. Hurry up!"
"Alright! Just give me 20 minutes."
"Lol...take your time, I am one hour away."
Noura said this to her friend as she was going to her friend's place to do some shopping with her. They had been friends for nine years and still nothing had changed. Noura maintained her friendship even after her marriage to Adam. Burhan was at school and Adam was at his workplace, so Noura found a golden chance to sneak away for a few hours.
When she reached her friend's house, she was ready to go with her. So they left for shopping. They kept roaming in the market for one hour, but Noura didn't buy anything.
"Do you want to buy something? I don't think that was your motive."
" You are right! I just wanted to have some time with you. It's been a long time, that we haven't enjoyed some quality time together. "
"You are insane! We could have planned it better if you had told me earlier. "
"Then we would haven't been there, that's for sure! I know you are too lazy to plan such things."
After wandering for one hour, finally, Noura finally asked her friend to have lunch in their favorite restaurant. After the lunch, they also enjoyed ice cream. She completely forgot about her house, she never cared what her husband asked her to prepare before leaving the house.
"How is Burhan?" Her friend asked her.
Hearing this, Noura picked her head up while she was enjoying her ice cream.
"Omg...I forgot to pick Burhan from his school."
She immediately stood up and asked her friend to go with her. She was driving fast to reach the school, but suddenly her car stopped on the way. She tried hard to restart it, but all was in vain. She came out of the car and asked for help from a person who was standing on one side of the road.
"Excuse me, please! Is there any workshop nearby?"
"Yes Mam! It's five minutes away. "
He helped her to bring her car to the workshop. Luckily there was not any major issue, so soon the issue was resolved. So after picking Burhan from school, Noura dropped her friend at her house and left for her home. When she reached her place, she was tired. So after feeding Burhan, she decided to have some rest. But as soon as she lay down, Adam rang the door and she went to open the door.
"Good afternoon sweetheart! I hope the soup is ready!"
This was the first thing which Adam asked about as soon as he entered the house. Hearing this she replied hesitantly.
" Omg...Babe! I completely forgot about it."
This was not new for Adam, as he was used to hearing this. But that day he got a little disappointed, so he left his house angrily. But still, he never said anything to his careless wife. On the way, he met with an accident and got serious injuries to his head. Noura was informed about the accident, but as soon as she reached the hospital she received the shocking news,
"Sorry Mam! He is no more."
She couldn't believe what she heard and broke into tears. She lost her husband and her biggest remorse was that she couldn't fulfill his last wish. She said to her friend,
"I was not a good wife! Do you know what he demanded from me last time?.... Just a soup! But I couldn't even prepare a soup for him."
She left with that remorse for life.
