Life is a web of events, many such incidents happen in every person's life, which we forget with time. But there are some incidents whose impression gets imprinted on our minds forever. Today I have remembered such an incident in which time played a big role.
What actually happened was that I had to go with my wife to the high court of my state to plead a case, the city of the high court was at a distance of 650 km from my city.
At that time the only mode of transport to reach there and back from there was the train. It used to take about 18 hours to reach there by this train which also included one night.
On this train, many people of the state used to go to the High Court every day in connection with their cases, so there was a lot of availability of space on this train, so it was very important to make a reservation for berths in the train in advance to go there.
That's why before going there, I had also made a reservation for myself and my wife to go there and return from there. I was hopeful that my casework would be completed by 5-6 pm, so I made a reservation for the 6th date to return.
After reaching there, we found a hotel near the High Court and took a room to stay in it, so that we could save time, the distance from our hotel room to the railway station was only 2 km.
And from there, one could easily get taxis and three-wheelers to the station, and from there it took only 5 minutes to reach the station by taxi.
Everything was going according to our plan. Our casework was also almost done and we expected to finish the work on time and return to our city.
But someone has probably told the truth that everything is not in our hands, not even a leaf moves without the will of God.
So something happened to us that we never expected, there was a slight delay in finalizing our casework on the day we were to return and as our train time was near.
That's why I asked my lawyer to expedite my work.
He also expedited my work on my request and freed us about 20 minutes before the departure of the train.
We ran to the hotel, quickly collected our luggage and from there took a three-wheeler to the railway station and reached on time for the train.
Then when we reached the designated platform running panting, we saw that the train was leaving in front of our eyes.
With luggage and my wife, I kept watching the train leaving in front of my eyes. The time difference of just 2-3 minutes had put us in big trouble. For a long time, we could not understand how to deal with this situation, in those days even a taxi driver would not agree to such a long journey.
We had also left the hotel, and now there was no point in staying there, so we hired a taxi by paying an exorbitant price to a taxi driver and travelled the whole night sitting in the seat of a taxi and after about 20 hours reached our city tired.
That's why I will remember that delay of 2-3 minutes for the rest of my life.
Don't waste your time, time is money
THE END
