Many farmers of our country cultivate corn, it is seen as the main crop of many farmers. But my grandfather used to tell an anecdote that about 60 years ago, eating popcorn was not so much in our country.
One day his friend, who was a senior officer of the district, reached a Cinema hall with his family to watch a movie. There, a sub-inspector and two constables were deputed from the nearest police station for their care and security.
In the movie recess, the officer's children expressed their desire to eat popcorn, the officer ordered the sub-inspector to bring popcorn. The inspector did not know about any item by this name, he thought that it might be an expensive food item and could be found at some big confectionery in the city.
He ordered one of his soldiers that go find it and bring it from anywhere, the soldier searched all over but he did not find anything called popcorn anywhere.
