My father was a high state official. I spent most of my childhood at his state residence.
His posting was once in a new district where government houses were not built, so our temporary residence was built on a farmhouse.
No one lived near this house and all the needs here (water and electricity fruits and vegetables) were met from their farm.
After spending a few days there, it had become a dream of my life that someday I too should live in an off-grid house in a deserted place away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
If We want to live a more sustainable lifestyle, and living in a log cabin appeals to our soul, so building an off-grid home could be the ideal solution for us.
To fulfil my dream, I first need to find some such mountainous area where a piece of land found at about 1500 meters plot in a very low cost and there is some source of water like a river or canal nearby.
If it is not both, then the water label should not be too low at that place so that water can be easily obtained with the help of a pump. After getting this place, a very small and beautiful tin-shed house will be built here, in which only the most necessary facilities will be provided, like a bedroom, a small kitchen, a small toilet, all this in 50 to 60 meters It will be built. and a minimum expenditure will be done on it.
The roof of this house will be covered with solar panels so that no extra space is required to install these solar panels. And in this way, they will also be safe. No luxury items, i.e. fridge, air-conditioning, television, microwave, room heater, dishwasher, etc., will be kept in this off-grid residence so that there is minimum use of electricity.
There will be only one solar electric stove that will run on solar energy. The solar plant will have a capacity of only 1000 -1500 watts, from which water supply can also be obtained. A 500-litre tank will be installed for water storage.
There will be no fens, coolers etc in this house. Only by installing 6 to 15 watt LED bulbs or tubes at every outlet will it work. To heat the water, a small solar water heating system will be installed on the roof of the house, which will be used only when needed.
A small septic tank for the toilet will be constructed in the open space outside the house, and a water-harvesting underground tank of 5 x 10 meters will be built at some distance from the septic tank, which will be sufficient to store rainwater and drainage water.
We will use this water in our kitchen garden with the help of a 250-watt water pump. A large part of the land around the house will be used for planting vegetables, fruit trees, etc.
To meet the requirement of milk, a cow or buffalo will also be reared, whose place of residence will be in the garden itself.
And by collecting all the items we need, the joy of life that will come here will be a different feeling. in that way, we will find, natural pure air, pure water, no noise from vehicles, and only peace and tranquillity which will be found in life at a very low cost. And our cortisol production will decrease, which helps with both brain function and immune regulation to strengthen both mental and physical health.
I will complete this dream very soon in my life to enjoy peace at a very low-cost expenditure.
