When Julie, immersed in memories, got down from her Audi, suddenly her eyes filled with tears.
The dreams that he had had about 40 years ago in this school floated before her eyes.
Today she was standing in front of that maroon-colored building, on one side of which was written very beautifully, "International College."
The building was surrounded by lush green trees, just as it was when she left the school 40 years ago.
When Julie took a long breath, it was as if she had found peace after many years.
But all those memories also entered her mind, which she had made unsuccessful attempts a thousand times to forget.
This time, she took care of herself and put on her blue dress, which was given to her by his best friend Robert. Becouse this was Robert’s favourite colour.
Today there was an international function to which Julie was invited as the chief guest because she is
a judge.
It was a proud time for her, but today she was a little sad. She was sad that the Robert who had this dream was not in this world today.
No one can do what Robert did for her, but he was no longer alive today.
Standing on that threshold today, all the people were giving lots of love to her. Once again, she got lost in the old memories when she too once belonged to this school and used to welcome the officers in the same way.
She remembered that then Robert used to say, in a serious tone, "You will see, one day I too will become a big officer and I will also be given the same respect."
But perhaps the future was something else, and no one knew in advance.
She remembered something at every turn of the college how every time she would go up the stairs in a hurry, the English teacher had forbidden her to go.
And how she, before the lunch break, used to eat tiffin sitting on the last bench.
A smile floated on his lips as she thought of all these past things.
How a turning point also came, which started preparations to snatch his best friend from him forever.
On that dark day in front of her eyes, when the clouds had been pounding since morning and there was darkness all around, the rain was not taking to stop.
It was a farewell day, and a wave of enthusiasm was running among all the students, but who knew that the memory of this day would hurt their hearts.
We were in the auditorium of the college when the sound of gunshots echoed in our ears, and recently, a stampede broke out.
Everyone was scared, but looking for a way in the dark with the light of the phone, everyone somehow got out, but I myself was left behind.
I don't know how my leg got stuck in some place. I started trying to get it out, but suddenly there was a sound of firing, and then I realised that the bullet had passed by touching my forehead.
I don't know what happened after that, how I got out of that situation. When I got to the hospital, Robert told me that those attackers had been arrested by the police. He didn't say why they came. When I regained consciousness, I realised that it was dark all around me. Becouse I had lost my eyes.
But, with the hope of living, I started living in a very similar way to before. My mother and father had started looking for an "eye donor" for me.
It was my birthday on April 14th, when I got beautiful gifts. This time too, I was happy. But how did I know that today was going to take a new turn in my colorless life?
Today, as usual, Robert came to wish me and to give me a gift. I knew that this time also, his gift would be different from everyone else's. He came and sat beside me,and told me that he wanted to go on vacation somewhere far away.
I was a little surprised to hear this. Only then he gave an envelope in my hand and said that there was a very valuable thing in it, which he handed to me.
But he refused to let it open and he silently left without saying anything.
When my brother came, he opened the envelope and found that there was a letter in it along with the gift, in which it was written that Robert had last stage cancer and could no longer be treated. That's why, before he died, he had given his eyes to me .
Hearing all this, my eyes became moist.
In the letter, he had written, "Not only my eyes, but I am also going to hand over my dreams to you." Now it's your duty to complete them.
After Robert's death, his eyes were fixed on me, and I was determined that I would live by fulfilling his dream.
And perhaps because of this, I have fulfilled his dream of becoming a judge. I had fulfilled his dream in his own eyes.
Today, after so many years, of sitting in the same college, he could clearly feel the feeling of being Robert.
Robert's unique gaze was his eyes, which were his lovely gift to me. And I am living as per his happiness with his own eyes.
Now it seems as if he was here in front of me.
