Davis was enjoying his retired life just a few days back, after retiring from an insurance company. He has two children, both of whom have settled with their families in other cities. Now he has no responsibilities left, Davis' wife has also passed away 5 years ago, so he has taken domestic help from a service provider for household chores and cooking etc., who works at home from noon till evening.
Davis was completely satisfied with his life, sometimes even his two sons along with their families used to visit him. And there was talk on the phone too. Davis spent most of his time watching television news and sleeping.
In the morning, he used to regularly go for a walk and exercise in the nearby park, there were other benefits of coming here like he also got a chance to share his joys and sorrows with people and women of his age.
There was a group they first used to exercise, then gathered at one place and laughed out loud, then used to talk amongst themselves. After this, the one who wanted to walk used to walk in the park.
One day Davis was walking in the park under this routine when he saw a very small leather purse lying in a flower bed by the side of the sidewalk. Davis eagerly picked up the purse, and greedily put the purse in his pocket, thinking he'd go home to check what was in it.
After a short walk in the park, he reached home. And after reaching home, he first opened the purse and saw it, he was astonished, there was a gold chain and about $ 1700 kept inside it and also kept an electricity bill.
Seeing so much money in the purse his mind greed started and he took care of that purse and hid it in his cupboard. For about three to four days, Davis was in this dilemma of whether to spend the money on this purse or find it and hand it over to its original owner.
Within these three or four days, he started feeling that some great burden had come on his soul. But man is also an effigy of greed, now his heart and mind were fighting among themselves. There is a good and a bad conscience inside every human being which motivates him to do good or bad deeds.
He thought a lot in his mind that the person or woman who’s this purse must be feeling so much pain of losing his money and jewellery, maybe he/she needs this money very much, without which many of his/her works would have stopped. Maybe he/she doesn't take any wrong steps in despair. Thinking about all this, he decided that he would return this purse to its owner.
Now, this was the situation for Davis, but in the end, his good mind prevailed and he decided that he would return the purse to its original owner. As soon as he made this decision, he took that electricity bill and directly reached the electricity office in that area, after reaching there he got the address and mobile number of that person's house from that electricity bill. Then he reached that person's house and rang the house bell.
A 40-42-year-old woman came out from inside and asked Davis, "to whom do you want to meet".
Davis asked the woman whether you have lost anything.
The woman immediately said yes, I have lost a purse, I have lost a lot of money and a gold chain in it.
Davis asked her again how was your purse. The woman told him that it was a small leather purse, I had gone for a walk in the park in the morning, and it had fallen anywhere in the park. I searched a lot but was not found.
Davis took out that purse from his pocket and showed it to the woman, she cried with joy, yes this is my purse, I was very sad for four days after losing it.
Where did you find it, Davis handed over the purse to her. The woman wept with joy, and she thanked Davis very much.
Then she told to Davis that she is a single woman, she was still not married and working in a firm, and sometimes going for a walk in that park.
Davis returned her purse to the woman and he was now feeling very light inside.
Later that woman became his very best friend and both of them started meeting in the park too.
