Rapsweißling ■ Green-veined white
Pieris napi (Linnaeus, 1758)
Gestern bin ich schon früh aufgebrochen, zu einer Tour über den Bettingberg ins Himmelreich. An einem Holzlagerplatz habe ich zwei Puppen vom Rapsweißling entdeckt. Leider hatte sich die beiden Raupen eine Plastikplane für ihre Verpuppung ausgesucht. Um die Gürtelpuppe etwas vorteilhaften zu fotografieren, habe ich sie mit einer Schere ausgeschnitten. Durch den seitlichen Winkel beim fotografieren und die Unschärfe fällt das Stück Plastik als solches nicht mehr auf und wirkt sich nicht negativ auf den Betrachter aus.
Yesterday I left early for a tour over the Bettingberg into the "kingdom of heaven". At a lumber yard I discovered two puppets of the Green-veined white butterfly. Unfortunately the two caterpillars had chosen a plastic sheet for their pupation. In order to photograph the belted pupa a little bit more advantageously, I cut them out with scissors. Because of the lateral angle when photographing and the blurring the piece of plastic as such is not noticeable anymore and does not have a negative effect on the viewer.

Die beiden Aufnahmen vom Schmetterling, sind natürlich Archivaufnahmen und nicht aktuell. Der Falter schlüpft erst im Frühling und fliegt bevorzugt auf nährstoffreichen Blühwiesen in Waldnähe. Beobachten kann man den Schmetterling in 3-4 Generationen von April bis Oktober. Als Generation bezeichnet man den Zyklus vom Ei bis zum fertigen Insekt.
The two photographs of the butterfly are of course archive photographs and not current. The butterfly does not hatch until spring and prefers to fly on nutrient-rich flowering meadows near the forest. You can observe the butterfly in 3-4 generations from April to October. Generation is the cycle from the egg to the finished insect.
