Die totale Mondfinsternis begann um 4:30 und gegen 5:45 war der Mond vollkommen verdeckt. In dieser Konstellation stehen Sonne, Erde und Mond in einer Linie zueinander. Es trifft nur langwelliges Licht auf den Mond und lässt ihn in Kupferrot erstrahlen. Ich hatte mir wie viele Menschen den Wecker gestellt. Mit der App PhotoPills habe ich am Abend zuvor die genaue Position des Mondes für diesen Zeitpunkt geplant. So konnte ich bequem aus dem Dachfenster von unserem Haus das Spektakel beobachten und fotografieren. Die nächste Mondfinsternis kann erst wieder am 31. Dezember 2028 beobachtet werden.
The total lunar eclipse began at 4:30 and around 5:45 the moon was completely covered. In this constellation sun, earth and moon stand in a line to each other. Only long-wave light hits the moon and makes it shine in copper red. Like many people, I had set the alarm clock for myself. With the app PhotoPills the evening before I planned the exact position of the moon for this time. So I could observe and photograph the spectacle comfortably from the roof window of our house. The next lunar eclipse can only be observed again on 31 December 2028.
