Annabel was getting ready for her presentation because she was to represent her company in a conference and she was nervous about it. She stood by the mirror practicing how she would go about it.
As she was practicing on her to go about it, her friend walked in and interrupted her.
“Hey girl, what are you doing?” Cynthia asked with a smiling face.
“My dear, I have to represent my company at a conference, so I'm practicing how to go about it” She replied.
“Is that why you are worried? I Know you are good with what you do and you will make your company proud.” She said,
“I am very nervous girlfriend. I've never represented my company at such a conference before and I don't know why my boss chose me of all people.”
“Don’t sweat it” Cynthia encouraged.
Annabel was motivated by her friend's words and she summoned courage to do the presentation without fear. She kept on practicing until the day of the presentation.
The day for the presentation came and Annabel prepared and left for the office. As she got to the office there was nobody there but she met the security there.
“Ah! Madam Annabel, what happened that you came so early to work today?”
“Ahba! Sheriff, don't I come to work early?”
“Today is different. I've never seen you so early at work like this.” Sheriff replied, smiling.
“Everyday can not be the same, so take it the way you see it.” She said, smiling back at him.
She got to her office and arranged her desk for the task ahead. After arranging her desk, she opened her computer and started reviewing her work and replying to emails.
A few minutes later, her boss walked in and was surprised to see her in the office so early. He did not say anything but asked her to see him in his office.
“Good morning Sir, Annabel greeted.
“Good morning Annoabel. Hope you are prepared for the presentation because our investors will be arriving soon.” Her boss asked.
“Yes sir, I'm fully prepared for it and I will not let the company down.” She replied.
“Okay, you may leave.”
“Thank you sir.”
She went back to her office and waited for the arrival of the guests. While waiting, her phone rang and she checked the caller's ID. It was her best friend Cynthia.
“Hey girlfriend, how is it going?”
“My dear, I'm waiting for the investors to come.”
“Okay, don't worry you will nail it, I trust you.”
“Thanks dear, I really appreciate your words of encouragement.”
“Bye for now. See you when you return in the evening.” She said and hung up the call
It was not until five minutes later that she dropped the call, that the investors walked in and the receptionist directed them to the conference room. She carried her laptop and the necessary documents she needed for the presentation and headed to the conference room.
On getting to the conference room, she met her boss and the investors seated already waiting for her. She started the presentation and they were all smiling and nodding their heads because she did more than what they expected.
After she finished the presentation and the investors left, her boss thanked her for not letting him and the company down.
She was happy that she did not let her nervousness take the better part of her and she left the office that day with joy in her heart for a job well done.
When she got home that evening, she was surprised to see her best friend Cynthia waiting for her in the house, Just to know how the presentation went.
“Babe what's up, how did it go?” Cynthia asked.
“It went well my dear, I've never been this happy in my life, they were all smiling and nodding their heads when I was doing the presentation.” She said smiling.
“I told you not to worry because I knew you will make it. Do you see it now?” She said, smiling back at her.
“Thank you my friend for your words of encouragement and also for making me have confidence in myself.”
“What are friends for? I'm always there to make you happy.”
“Thank you once again, I owe you one.” She said, hugging her tightly.
