Christmas is just around the corner, and I'm trying to bring the usual Christmas spirit into my home. I recently ordered a spray of ice flowers and the postwoman delivered it this morning. I gave her a small piece of chocolate, she was very happy about this kind gift.
Unfortunately the weather outside is very bad, it's pouring with rain, but snow is forecast for the weekend. I'm compensating with warm lights inside.
I took a jar and sprayed it with ice flower spray. As it dried, you could see the crystals growing. It's just amazing!
Then I put a candle in the jar and lit it. The flame of the candle was not sharply visible, but broke on the many small fractal-like crystals.
I took my camera, set it to macro mode and took a few photos. Then I just corrected the contrast and cropped them to a uniform square.
