You see the stereographic projection of Jupiter by NASA, reflecting the South Pole in the center of the map and the equator at the edge. It was built from the images, "Cassini" made when the spacecraft neared Jupiter during a flyby on the way to Saturn. This map shows the various colorful "cloud" places, including parallel reddish-brown and white bands, the Great Red Spot, multi-lobed chaotic regions, white ovals and many small vortices. Because of the many clouds appear bands and waves, as well as because of the constant winds and turbulence of Jupiter. Small bright spots in the orange band north of the equator - lightning and thunderstorms.
