I am using a competition post as a good excuse to finally write a blog about my two lovely dogs and how they became friends.
We have two dogs, one is a Jack Russel cross Pug called Tilla and the other a Cavoodle called Millie. We got Millie when Tilla was getting a bit older and we could not be at home as much for her. As you can see millie as a new puppy was almost as big as poor little Tilla. This is not their room for anyone worried they just crashed out here!
We really were very nervous about having the two of them together as Tilla has been almost exclusively a human-dog until then, that was until we caught Tilla licking her through the gate we had set up and pulling her bed over to it so Tilla could sleep next to Millie.
Once they were in the same space together Millie did not know how to use a dog door, they are so very confusing! So Tilla went halfway through it and propped it open with her body so Millie could get out. They did this for days until we again caught Tilla tapping the dog door and teaching Millie it opens, from then on Millie could use the dog door.
We where kinda of surprised by this intelligence given that Tilla once got stuck in an open cardboard box and had to be "Saved"
Now they are a bit older and Tilla tends to sleep a bit more, but no matter how old and grumpy she gets she still curls up next to Millie every day for nap. Now Tilla has trouble with the dog door so Millie props it open for her so she can get in and out :)
