BANDA ACEH - The devastating earthquake and tsunami that struck Aceh 13 years ago, precisely on December 26, 2004, claimed more than 200 thousand casualties.
Hundreds of thousands of bodies of victims were buried together in several mass grave locations in Banda Aceh and Aceh Besar. This mass grave is often visited by the families of the victims, especially during Idul Fitri Eid, Idul Adha and the tsunami warning event every December 26th.
