While I was driving from Varaždin to Zagreb I was listening radio station on which there was a great debate about motivation. My driving was 1 hour long so I heard many interesting things that I want to share with you before I forget it.
The main subject question was is it better to be smart and lazy or smart and motivated. Yeah I know first thought is that being smart and motivated is much better but wait till you read my post to the end you will be suprised.
The most important thing to get yourself motivated is to surround yourself with positive, motivated and successful people, because people are just like monkey, monkey see what monkey do, we subconsciously imitate people we are spending the most time with so try to spend more time with people who will bring you good.
Motivation force us to try, and habits keep us from quiting
Like in everything else in life moderation is the key. It is good to be motivated but being hypermotivated could lead us to opposite effect.
I will give you one exampl.
I wanted to learn german so bad and my motivation was extreme. In one day I spent 7 hours on youtube watching tutorials and in all that desire, next day I quit. Guessing ? Yeah, I was hypermotivated. If I learned only few word per day, today I would be speaking german quiet good.
Smart people who are motivated always find a way to reach their goals, they go hard way, they give all they have and never give up. For them it is not just trying to do best they are doing best on best possible way.
On the opposite we have lazy and smart people, they are not so motivated to do what their goal is but most of their energy goes to finding the easiest way to do something. So usually they will find shortcut to their achievement. The only problem about them is that they stop when they reach what they were aiming for. We can say for them that they are like dead capital.
The one who never quit, succed,
The one who succed, never quit.
