Announced just a few short hours ago, the news that had the nation gripped in anticipation has been revealed. We now have a new prime minister who is none other than... Boris Johnson! And what a result it is. I'm pretty over the moon about it. However, as is always the case, the country has been divided on this one. Some are shouting for joy, some shouting in anger. The political wheels never stop turning...
After the gorgon that was Teresa May slither out out of Number 10, the empty void will be filled by charisma and a steadfast rule. Because even though I know Boris is more commonly known for his on-screen antics and joviality, his political stance (especially on Brexit), should hold a much sterner meaning to it.
Citizens of the UK, have watched the circus freak show unfold concerning the "B" for some time now and realize we are the laughing stock of the world. However, we now have not only someone who actually believes in carrying out the democratic will of the people, but also is willing to out a firm date as to when it will happen. Something we never even got close to under our last minister. And I do see things working out slowly but surely, with a set plan and agenda on the table. And if the dreaded "no-deal" should come to pass, I say bring it on! Links can always be made and the UK has a lot to offer, such as the financial service market. Whatever the result may be, it'll be interesting as hell to watch play out.
So I say give the man a chance. He absolutely obliterated the opposition, Jeremy Hunt, by a landslide victory. The people have decided and it is now up to the man to see fit the needs of the public from here on. I think he's a great candidate for the job and have full faith in his abilities. The external persona he exudes is simply a diversion. Good luck, Boris. This is one of the biggest task undertaken by any PM before him. Fingers crossed he will serves us best he can.
