Before now, I know what an ice cap is, but I did not know it was called an ice cap. I have always wondered how an ice cap forms so quickly. When I see it in movies, in less than a minute it forms and as time goes by it thickens. This happens when there is a crack or perhaps someone falls into the ice.
I guess the coldness of the water makes the ice cap to protect itself or something, I'm not that sure but it is a cool method. Some things in nature just seem to amaze and surprise us. But I think it has its own function and it helps the water one way or another.
