The idea of Do or Die begins with a desperation, a quest to succeed at all cost. When going back is not an option, then success becomes the only way forward. This option becomes obvious when other choices seems narrow and slim.
I use to think it is a death sentence, probably a treat. But it is not so literal to that extent. It does not really mean death, but achieving your goals at all cost.
As much as this can be a wake up call and a motivation for those that are ready to make a move against all odds.
Do or Die is not for everyone, it is basically for those pushed to the wall. Some people just relax, they don't need the push. They strive at their own pace until desperation comes.
