Diameter is twice the radius.
It is a straight line through the center of a circle, it's not necessarily a circle but something with that kind of shape.
I understood the concept of diameter when I was teaching mathematics to highschool students, it gave me a better view of the topic and I broke it down for them to understand.
Diameter simply helps actualize the accurate measurement. Diameter is mostly underrated, but an engineer knows it's important. A wrong calculation in the diameter can spoil the whole job. I worked with an engineer long time, and we needed to calculate the base where the equipments would stay before they arrive. We calculated the diameter before concluding the placement.
Most times we think we don't need some things after we are done with them, like finishing highschool, we think this diameter is not useful but it is, one wey or another.
